Iain Macallen from Macallen Armourers is the current Master Armourer to the Bruce Family. Iain has a family history of making weapons, armour and fine swords spanning over 750 years. In the 16th century, at Stirling in Scotland, Walter, Stewart and John Allen were all Master Armourers and famous for their ornate basket hilted swords. Many of these swords are still on display in museums, castles and private collections throughout Britain.
In both cases, the original sword was used as a pattern for the replica and our copies are exact to the pattern. It is with great pride we can offer for sale these historically accurate swords, made in Britain by Master Armourers, who truly care about the authenticity and the quality of their products.
Macallen Armourers range of swords, daggers, torture implements, light armour and ladies products is always increasing, so check our site often. We also accept commissions for specific swords, daggers and other products. All weapons are battle ready unless otherwise stated. We only use the finest materials and where possible use traditional methods during manufacture. All products are hand built and finished, so, no two items are exactly the same, and if closely examined, you will expect to see our fine hand finishing and small working marks. Our products are built as a tribute to history, and we are proud to stand behind every item that leaves our Armoury. We hope customers cherish our products and pass them down to future generations, thus preserving a small piece of their own family history. |
