KING ROBERT
THE BRUCE GREAT SWORD
This
sword is an exact replica of the King Robert the Bruce double-handed great sword
that was used at Bannock Burn in 1314 during the final battle that won
Scottish independence from the English.
The
original sword has been in Earl Elgin’s family Armoury for over 700 years
and Macallen Armourers, who are the current Master Armourers to the Bruce
Family, were privileged to be allowed the use of the sword as their manufacturing
pattern.
Earl Elgin, a direct descendent of
Robert the Bruce, and the current Chief of the Bruce Family, is pleased to authenticate our
replica as a true copy of the original Bruce sword. Each weapon is supplied with a
numbered certificate of authenticity signed by Macallen Armourer's.
